President, Joyce Roby (Phillips Brooks School) president@baisl.org Joyce Roby has been an educator and librarian for more years than she dares tell—much of it at Head-Royce School in Oakland. In the fall of 2007 she will move to the Phillips Brooks School in Menlo Park to be the librarian for their pre K-5 program. She loves finding books that students grab from her hands, reading to anyone who will listen, and putting web pages together for her faculty. In her leisure world Joyce lusts for lazy days with good books, delighting in beautiful gardens, and listening to what fabrics tell her to sew. She is incredibly proud to be a part of BAISL, knowing that in a few short years it has grown from a handful of plucky, forward-thinking librarians to an organization of well over 100 members. BAISL rocks! |
| Vice-President, Billie King (Archbishop Mitty High School) president@baisl.org Billie King's 15 years of librarianship has been divided between Saint Andrew's School in Saratoga for six years and Archbishop Mitty High School for the past nine years. She is proud to have finished her MLIS from San Jose State University in 2001 after 5 long years of night classes! She lives in Los Gatos with her husband, two old cats, and one very large fish - but that's another story. She has two grown daughters who live in San Francsico and Los Angeles. Not in order of passion, she is a hiker, a walker, a rider of bicycles, a gardener, a reader, a writer, a traveler, worker, a friend. |

Secretary, Julia Haverstock (Holy Names High School) secretary@baisl.org Julia Haverstock is the librarian at Holy Names High School in Oakland, CA. After moving to California from North Carolina, she worked in restaurants doing everything from washing dishes to growing the produce and balancing the accounts. Her career as a librarian began in 2005, a few days before her graduation from San Jose State University with her MLIS. Since then she has devoted her time to buying relevant and scintillating books for teachers and students and working to increase information literacy at HNHS. |

Membership Director, Lori Deibel (The Branson School) membership@baisl.org Lori came to The Branson School library after more than a decade in the corporate library world. She was hired by the legendary Brenda Brown in 2002 to run the Branson library, and is still amazed at how much better it is to work with teenagers than with lawyers and accountants. |
